GVI 21 - 23 June

Spent my last view days before heading off on holiday with my good old friends at GVI.

As I drove into the reserve I saw some Vultures sitting in a tree and thought that maybe there could b something there and about 5m from the road was their male Cheetah on a kill.

An amazing cat. One of my favourite animals. Amazing sitting and animal.

I was extremely lucky to get a chance to be involved I the game capture which was going on in the reserve. This was crazy and amazing. Was so much fun watching everything happen.
Wildebeest being herded to get loaded into the truck.
Wildebeest coming through the door and into the truck.

This is the helicopter which herds the animals toward the tunnel to catch them. Mad skills by the pilot to maneuver around to keep the animals in line for the tunnel.

We were searching for the Elephants when we came across a Secretary Bird. Its a massive bird and is beautiful. Was lucky to catch him as he was flying.

Massive wingspan. Beautiful bird.

We managed to find the Elephants after this and we came across a Bull which was very irritated but we could see he was in Musth and he wasn't happy. He was trumpeting like mad and came charging out the bush at us. Wasn't a happy man.
This is him eating before coming at us. We left him alone straight after that.
Two older Bull were going in his direction when we were heading back to camp and was close to him so could only imagine they were going to help or sort him out.

These two Bulls were on a mission and not stopping for anything.

While we were watching the Bulls cross behind us there was a lot of activity in the dam where there were Marabou Stalks landing and flying off. Looks like a airplane coming in for a landing when they want 2 land. Really awesome.

Till next time
